Description

This is not a charging station, but the module that makes all the others talk to each other. It connects to the Deye hybrid inverter and turns it into a command centre for the smart devices in the house: sockets, switches, consumption sensors and the car charging station. The link is made by radio, so no new cables have to be run through the walls, and the system works locally, without depending on the internet connection.

A single transmitter manages up to 10 smart switches or sockets, 2 current sensors and one charging station for electric cars, with a communication range of up to 200 m in open field. That means you can automatically start the water heater, the pump or the washing machine exactly when the panels produce more than the house consumes. The module is 137.8 x 31.3 x 31.3 mm and weighs only 45.8 g, is powered with 5 V directly from the inverter and requires no maintenance; after installation in the inverter it reaches IP65 protection and withstands from -40 to +60 °C. It is compatible with all Deye hybrid inverters, pairs quickly with them and is the mandatory part for a Deye SUN-EVSE charging station to be able to charge from the photovoltaic surplus. The warranty is 2 years.

SUN-SMART-TX01: LoRa communication module powered with 5 V DC from the metering port of the hybrid inverter. 863-870 MHz band for the TX01 version (the TXU1 version works in 920-928 MHz), built-in antenna with 0.56 dBi gain, communication distance up to 200 m in open field. Capacity: 10 smart switches/sockets, 2 current transformers and 1 EV charging station; offline operation, without dependence on the internet. Dimensions 137.8 x 31.3 x 31.3 mm, weight 45.8 g, IP20 in itself and IP65 after installation in the inverter, -40...+60 °C, humidity 0-100%, altitude up to 4000 m, compliant with IEC/EN 62368-1, 2-year warranty.

Who it suits

Suitable for any house with a Deye hybrid inverter that wants to charge the car from the panels' surplus or to automatically start the large loads when there is a photovoltaic excess.

Terms explained

  • LoRa: A long-range, low-consumption radio link through which the devices send each other commands and data without new cables and without the internet.
  • Current transformer (CT): A clamp attached to a cable, which measures how much current passes through it; this is how you find out the consumption on each circuit separately.
  • Load management: The automatic starting and stopping of large loads depending on the available energy, so that you use your own production instead of selling it cheaply to the grid.

Technical details

Specifications confirmed from the manufacturer's datasheet

Deye SUN-SMART-TX01 is the LoRa transmitter (Smart Transmitter) of the Deye Smart Home ecosystem. It is not a charging station, but a communication module that connects to the metering port of the Deye hybrid inverter and turns the inverter into a local hub for Deye smart devices. Power is supplied at 5 V DC, directly from the inverter.

Communication is by LoRa in the 863-870 MHz band (the TX01 version, for Europe; the TXU1 version works in 920-928 MHz), with a built-in 0.56 dBi antenna and a communication distance of up to 200 m in open field. A single transmitter can manage up to 10 smart switches/sockets, 2 current transformers (CT) and one charging station for electric vehicles, which allows load management and automation of household consumption without additional wiring and without dependence on the internet - the system also works offline.

The module has dimensions of 137.8 x 31.3 x 31.3 mm and weighs only 45.8 g. The protection degree is IP20 in itself and IP65 after installation in the inverter. It works between -40 and +60 °C, at 0-100% humidity and altitude up to 4000 m. It complies with the IEC/EN 62368-1 standard and has a 2-year warranty. It is compatible with all Deye hybrid inverters and pairs quickly with them, being the element required for Deye SUN-EVSE charging stations to be able to charge from the photovoltaic surplus.
