Inverter-Battery communication cable Pytes
Without this cable the battery and the inverter do not talk to each other. It transmits the state of charge and the battery limits; RJ45-RJ45, 3.5 m on the Pytes V5 B2I version.
The opposite polarity version of the Y branch; together they connect two panel strings in parallel. 1500 V, 60 A, IP68, installation by simple plugging.
This Y-shaped part has three terminals with male-type contacts and joins two panel cables into a single route. Any connection between panels has two wires, plus and minus, and each wire needs its own branch; this version covers the complementary wire compared with the version with female contacts. The two are used as a pair and together form the complete node for two strings. It comes factory assembled, so nothing is cut and nothing is crimped during installation.
In practice, the pair of branches lets you bring two panel strings onto the same inverter input when you can no longer raise the voltage and the only way to add power is to increase the current. The part withstands 60 A on the European standard, that is well above the current of a single string, precisely because the two summed currents pass through it. It stays IP65/IP68 sealed (1 m, 1 h) as long as it is plugged in and touch-protected IP2X when it is not, while the temperature range -40...+85 deg C covers both winter and the summer-heated roof. The installation is carried out by an electrician, with the photovoltaic system disconnected, and the cable and the downstream protection are sized for the combined current of the two strings.
The design reference is the assembly Staubli PV-AZS4-EVO 2-UR (32.0197) and PV-AZB4-EVO 2-UR (32.0196): 1500 V DC according to IEC 62852 and UL 6703, rated current 60 A (IEC) / 50 A (UL), limited by the mating connector, test voltage 8 kV, rated impulse voltage 16 kV, contact resistance below 0.5 mOhm. Tinned copper contacts, polyamide (PA) UL94-V0 insulation, protection class II, IP65/IP68 (1 m, 1 h) plugged in and IP2X unplugged, ambient temperature -40...+85 deg C with an upper limit of 115 deg C, maximum operating altitude 5000 m, TUV Rheinland certifications according to IEC 62852:2014/AMD1:2020 and UL 6703. Delivered factory assembled, without crimping; unplugging requires the dedicated tool PV-MS-PLS/2 or PV-MS-MC4-EVO.
Suitable for whoever is building a parallel connection node for two panel strings and needs the branch on the complementary polarity.

The MC4-Evo 2 Y splitter, male version, is the three-terminal branch connector installed on the complementary polarity compared with the female variant. Together, the two form the complete paralleling node for two module strings equipped with MC4 or MC4-Evo 2 connectors. The technical reference for this type of product is the assembly Staubli PV-AZS4-EVO 2-UR (code 32.0197) and PV-AZB4-EVO 2-UR (code 32.0196).
The electrical values are sized for the summed current of the two branches: rated voltage DC 1500 V according to IEC 62852 and UL 6703, rated current 60 A on IEC and 50 A on UL, limited by the connector it is mated with. The test voltage is 8 kV, the rated impulse voltage 16 kV, and the contact resistance below 0.5 mOhm - relevant because in the paralleling node the current and therefore the dissipation are at their maximum.
The contacts are of tinned copper, the insulation of polyamide (PA) UL94-V0, protection class II. Protection is IP65/IP68 (1 m, 1 h) in the plugged state and IP2X unplugged, ambient temperature -40...+85 deg C, upper limit temperature 115 deg C, maximum operating altitude 5000 m. The product is TUV Rheinland certified according to IEC 62852:2014/AMD1:2020 and UL 6703.
The product is delivered factory assembled, so it requires no crimping or assembly tools, only plugging into the route. Unplugging is done with the dedicated tool (PV-MS-PLS/2 or PV-MS-MC4-EVO). The installation is carried out by an electrician, with the photovoltaic system disconnected, and the cable and the downstream overcurrent protection are sized for the combined current of the two strings.
