Inverter-Battery communication cable Pytes
Without this cable the battery and the inverter do not talk to each other. It transmits the state of charge and the battery limits; RJ45-RJ45, 3.5 m on the Pytes V5 B2I version.
The original Staubli plugs through which the panels are connected: click coupling, IP68 sealed, up to 53 A on a 6 mm² cable, 1500 V DC, from -40 to +85 °C.
These are the plugs through which the panels are connected to each other and onwards to the inverter, a kind of sealed sockets for the direct current produced by the modules. They come in a pair, one female and one male, they couple with a click and stay locked, so that they do not come apart accidentally while the circuit is live. They are original Staubli parts, the manufacturer that created the MC4 standard.
One pair covers one cable joint. The permitted current depends on the thickness of the crimped cable: 39 A at 2.5 mm², 45 A at 4 mm², 53 A at 6 mm² and 69 A at 10 mm², so it covers by far the current of an ordinary string of domestic panels. When mated, the connectors are IP65/IP68 sealed, tested at 1 m depth for 168 hours, and work between -40 and +85 °C, that is they withstand both the frost and the roof heated in summer. A contact resistance below 0.2 mΩ means that the joint practically does not heat up and does not lose energy. The assembly is done by crimping, not by screwing, so it requires a dedicated tool; it is not a product that can be fitted correctly by hand or with a universal plier.
PV-KBT4-EVO 2 (female) and PV-KST4-EVO 2 (male) cable couplers, 4 mm MULTILAM contact system, contact resistance below 0.2 mΩ. Certified DC 1500 V to IEC 62852:2014+A1:2020 and DC 1500 V to UL 6703; IP65/IP68 (1 m, 168 h) when mated, ambient temperature -40...+85 °C. Crimping with PV-CZM-61100 or PV-CZM-60100 and locator PV-LOC-MC4-EVO 2, on cable with tinned copper conductor of flexibility class 5 or 6; snap-in locking, unmating exclusively with PV-MS-PLS/2 or PV-MS-MC4-EVO. Intermateable with original Staubli MC4 connectors; mating with connectors from another manufacturer is not covered by the IEC 62852 certification and is a frequent cause of heating and electric arcing.
Suitable for installations that require original, certified connectors, from residential systems up to 1500 V DC parks, and for replacing damaged connectors in an installation already equipped with Staubli MC4.

Specifications confirmed from the manufacturer's datasheet
The set contains the pair of MC4-Evo 2 cable couplers manufactured by Staubli: the female plug PV-KBT4-EVO 2 and the male plug PV-KST4-EVO 2. The contact system is the classic 4 mm MULTILAM, which ensures a contact resistance below 0.2 mOhm and a stable contact throughout the service life of the installation. The low contact resistance means reduced ohmic losses on the DC route and minimal heating of the joint, even at high string currents.
The assembly is certified for DC 1500 V both to IEC 62852:2014+A1:2020 and to UL 6703, which makes it usable in residential and commercial installations and in 1500 V photovoltaic parks. The rated current depends on the cross-section of the crimped cable: 39 A at 2.5 mm2, 45 A at 4 mm2, 53 A at 6 mm2 and 69 A at 10 mm2. When mated the protection degree is IP65/IP68 (1 m, 168 h), and the ambient temperature range is -40...+85 degrees C, so it withstands both the frost and the roof temperatures in summer.
The assembly is done by crimping, not by screwing. Staubli requires photovoltaic cables with a tinned copper conductor, flexibility class 5 or 6, and a crimping tool PV-CZM-61100 or PV-CZM-60100 together with the locator PV-LOC-MC4-EVO 2. The locking is of the snap-in type, and unmating is done only with the dedicated tool PV-MS-PLS/2 or PV-MS-MC4-EVO, which prevents accidental disconnection under load.
The MC4-Evo 2 connectors are intermateable with the original MC4 connectors, so they can be used to extend or repair existing installations equipped with Staubli MC4. Mating with connectors from another manufacturer is not recommended, because mixed mating is not covered by the IEC 62852 certification and is one of the frequent causes of heating and electric arcing in PV fields.
