Inverter-Battery communication cable Pytes
Without this cable the battery and the inverter do not talk to each other. It transmits the state of charge and the battery limits; RJ45-RJ45, 3.5 m on the Pytes V5 B2I version.
The cable end that couples to the male side of the solar installation. For solar cable with an outer diameter of 5-6 mm, that is cross sections of 4 and 6 mm².
The MC4 connector is the standard plug of the photovoltaic world: every panel comes from the factory with two such plugs, one female and one male, and all the cables on the roof are connected to each other through them. This is the female half, the one that receives the metal pin of the pair. It is fitted on the end of a solar cable: the contact is crimped onto the wire, pushed into the plastic body until the lock is heard and the gland, the nut that seals and keeps the cable from being pulled out, is tightened.
Coupling with the male side is done with a clear click, tactile and audible, and disconnecting requires pressing the two side tabs, usually with an MC4 wrench. It is not a pointless complication: in direct current, if you pull the plug under load, the electric arc does not go out on its own as happens in a household socket, so the lock prevents a dangerous situation. The gland covers cable with an outer diameter of 5-6 mm, which in practice means the usual solar cable of 4 mm² and 6 mm² of the H1Z2Z2-K type. It is sold as an individual piece, so it is useful when you need only one polarity: you repair a damaged end, you make an extension exactly to the length of the route or you complete a set. Even when not fitted, the contact remains protected against touch.
MC4 compatible female photovoltaic connector, 4 mm contact system, crimped, with latch locking and disconnection only with a tool (MC4 wrench), IP2X touch protection in the uncoupled state. Crimping is carried out with the pliers sized for the respective contact, not with universal pliers, on multi-stranded tinned copper solar cable. Being a generic MC4 compatible product, the certified voltage and current values depend on the actual manufacturer of the batch. Both halves of a joint must come from the same manufacturer: mating between different brands, even if they couple mechanically, is not covered by the IEC 62852 certification and frequently generates contacts with high resistance.
Suitable for installers and owners who redo a solar cable end, make extensions to an exact length or complete the connectors of an existing system.

Generic product — standard specifications
The MC4 compatible female connector is the coupling half that receives the 4 mm male contact. It is fitted on photovoltaic cable by crimping the contact onto the conductor, inserting it into the insulating body until it locks and tightening the threaded gland. The gland is sized for cable with an outer diameter of 5-6 mm, which in practice covers the 4 mm2 and 6 mm2 solar cable of the H1Z2Z2-K type, and provides sealing and strain relief at the same time.
Coupling with the male side is done through latch locking, with tactile and audible confirmation. Disconnection requires pressing the two side tabs, usually with an MC4 wrench, which prevents the accidental opening of the DC circuit under load - a dangerous situation, because in direct current the electric arc does not extinguish by itself at the zero crossing, as happens in alternating current. In the uncoupled state the contact remains protected against touch.
It is supplied as an individual piece, useful when only one polarity is needed: when repairing a damaged end, when making custom extensions or when completing a set. Being a generic MC4 compatible product, the exact electrical voltage and current values depend on the certification of the actual manufacturer.
The assembly rule is that crimping must be done with the pliers correctly sized for the respective contact, not with universal pliers, and that both halves of a joint must come from the same manufacturer. Mating between different brands, even if they couple mechanically, is not covered by the IEC 62852 certification and frequently generates contact points with high resistance.
