Inverter-Battery communication cable Pytes
Without this cable the battery and the inverter do not talk to each other. It transmits the state of charge and the battery limits; RJ45-RJ45, 3.5 m on the Pytes V5 B2I version.
The cable built to stay for years in the sun on the roof: it resists UV, ozone and -40...90 °C. 4 mm², 1.5 kV DC, tinned copper, TÜV Rheinland and AENOR certified.
Ordinary cables degrade quickly if they stay for years in the sun, on the roof. The solar cable is made exactly for that: it has rubber insulation that does not crack under ultraviolet light, ozone, frost or the heat under the panels. The copper wires inside are covered with a thin layer of tin, so they do not oxidise over time, and the cable stays flexible and easy to handle during installation.
The 4 mm² cross-section is the standard choice for wiring panel strings on the roofs of houses and commercial buildings, at the usual currents in a string. The conductor withstands 90 °C in continuous operation and temperatures down to -40 °C, so it copes without problems both with the scorching heat above the sheet metal in summer and with the winter frost. It is rated for 1.5 kV in direct current, which covers both 1000 V and 1500 V installations. It resists immersion and submersion, oils, greases and chemical agents and medium severity impact, aspects that matter on a roof where water can pool or where the cable touches the metal structure. The black colour marks, by convention, the negative pole; the ends are terminated with crimped MC4 connectors, and the cable is fixed to the structure so that it does not rub against metal edges and does not form large loops.
TOPSOLAR PV H1Z2Z2-K of 4 mm², annealed tinned electrolytic copper, class 5 according to EN 60228, insulation and sheath of halogen-free cross-linked rubber (LSZH). Rated voltage 1.5/1.5 (1.8) kV DC and 1/1 kV AC; maximum conductor temperature 90 °C in continuous operation, with 120 °C tolerated for 20,000 cumulated h and 250 °C for a maximum of 5 s on short circuit, minimum service temperature -40 °C in fixed and protected installations. TÜV Rheinland certified according to EN 50618 and AENOR according to IEC 62930, UTE C 32-502 standard, CE and RoHS marking; resistance to UV and ozone, AD7+ immersion, AD8 submersion, AG2 impact resistance, CPR class Cca-s1b, d2, a1, with flame non-propagation according to EN 60332-1-2, smoke light transmittance above 60% and no release of halogenated gases. The minimum bending radius is 4 times the outer diameter, for diameters up to 8 mm.
Suited to the direct-current side wiring of any residential or commercial photovoltaic installation, including for making extension leads with MC4 connectors.

Specifications confirmed from the manufacturer's datasheet
Single-core photovoltaic cable of 4 mm2 from Top Cable's TOPSOLAR PV H1Z2Z2-K range, a product certified by TUV Rheinland according to EN 50618 and AENOR according to IEC 62930. The conductor is of annealed tinned electrolytic copper, class 5 (flexible) according to EN 60228, and the tinning protects the wires against corrosion throughout the whole outdoor service life.
The insulation and the sheath are of halogen-free cross-linked rubber (LSZH). The maximum conductor temperature is 90 °C in continuous operation, with 120 °C tolerated for 20,000 cumulated hours, and on short circuit it withstands 250 °C for a maximum of 5 seconds. The minimum service temperature is -40 °C in fixed and protected installations. The rated voltage is 1.5/1.5 (1.8) kV DC and 1/1 kV AC, which covers both 1000 V and 1500 V DC installations.
The cable is resistant to UV radiation and to ozone according to EN 50618 and IEC 62930, resists immersion (AD7+) and submersion (AD8), has good resistance to oils, greases and chemical agents and medium severity impact resistance (AG2). The reaction-to-fire classification according to CPR is Cca-s1b, d2, a1: it does not propagate the flame according to EN 60332-1-2, the smoke light transmittance is above 60% and it does not release halogenated gases. The minimum bending radius for diameters up to 8 mm is 4 times the outer diameter.
The 4 mm2 cross-section is the standard choice for wiring panel strings on residential and commercial roofs, at usual string currents. The black colour conventionally marks the negative pole. It is terminated with crimped MC4-type connectors, and laying is done on the mounting structure, with fixings that avoid large induction loops and rubbing on metal edges.
