Description

It is a photovoltaic panel from the LONGi Hi-MO X10 family, in the light Guardian Light Design version. The difference from an ordinary panel is the weight: the front glass is 1.6 mm instead of 3.2 mm, and the module weighs about 16.3 kg instead of 25-30 kg. The cells are of the back-contact type, that is all the electrical contacts are moved to the back, so the face of the panel does not have the usual metal stripes - it looks uniform and captures more light. It is useful wherever the roof cannot take extra weight.

The weight of about 16.3 kg on an overall size of 1990 x 1134 x 30 mm means approximately 7.2 kg per square metre, that is a load that even light industrial roofs, of thin corrugated sheet or sandwich panels, can support. Each module gives 530 W, so a system of 20 panels reaches 10.6 kWp installed. The panel is easier to handle on the roof, which shortens the installation. The warranty is 15 years on the product and 30 years on the power, with a degradation of at most 1% in the first year and at most 0.35% per year afterwards, so after three decades the panel still produces an important part of the initial power.

HPBC 2.0 cells (Hybrid Passivated Back Contact), 120 cells, anodised aluminium frame, efficiency of about 23.5% on 2.26 m2. Temperature coefficients: -0.26 %/degree C for Pmax, -0.20 %/degree C for Voc and +0.05 %/degree C for Isc; the very low value for voltage simplifies the sizing of the strings at low temperatures. As a family reference, the 535 W bin has Voc 44.78 V, Isc 15.15 A, Vmp 37.01 V and Imp 14.46 A; operating range -40...+85 degrees C. Note for the design: the public LONGi datasheet for the Guardian Light Design version covers the 535-560 W range, so the exact electrical values of the 530 W bin must be confirmed with the label of the delivered batch.

Who it suits

Suitable for halls and light industrial roofs, with a small structural reserve, or for retrofits on buildings where weight cannot be added; also useful residentially, when easy handling matters.

Terms explained

  • Back-contact (HPBC): Technology in which the electrical contacts are moved to the back of the cell; the face stays clean, without metal stripes, so it catches more light and looks uniform.
  • kg/m2 (roof load): How much the panel presses on each square metre of roof; it matters on light halls, where the structure has a weight limit.
  • Voc temperature coefficient: It shows how much the panel's voltage rises in the cold; a low value, such as -0.20 %/degree C, allows more panels to be connected in a string without the risk of exceeding the inverter's limit in winter.

Technical details

Series-level specifications — valid for the product family

LR7-60HVHL is part of the LONGi Hi-MO X10 family in the Guardian Light Design version - the light version of the series, with a 1.6 mm front glass instead of 3.2 mm and a weight of about 16.3 kg for an overall size of 1990 x 1134 x 30 mm. This results in a load of approximately 7.2 kg/m2, which opens up light industrial roofs (thin corrugated sheet, sandwich panels) that cannot support conventional 25-30 kg modules.

The cells are of the HPBC 2.0 type (Hybrid Passivated Back Contact), with both contacts on the back: the face of the module has no busbars, which increases the active surface and gives a uniform appearance. The laminate has 120 cells and an anodised aluminium frame. The temperature coefficients are -0.26 %/degree C for Pmax, -0.20 %/degree C for Voc and +0.05 %/degree C for Isc - the voltage coefficient of -0.20 %/degree C is among the best on the market and simplifies the sizing of the strings at low temperatures.

At the 530 W bin the efficiency works out at about 23.5% on the 2.26 m2 surface. As a reference for the family, the 535 W bin has Voc 44.78 V, Isc 15.15 A, Vmp 37.01 V and Imp 14.46 A. Note: the public LONGi datasheet for the Guardian Light Design version covers the 535-560 W range, so the exact electrical values for the 530 W bin must be confirmed with the label of the delivered batch.
