Aiko Comet 1N A615
Fewer parts and faster installation for the same power: 615 W per module, at 23.8% efficiency, in a panel of 27 kg and 2278x1134x30 mm.
More energy from the same roof area: 600 W from a single module, at 23.2% efficiency, with the contacts moved to the back for a fully active front face.
AIKO Comet 1N A600 is a large-format solar panel, designed for the roofs of halls and commercial buildings. Its particularity is that all the electrical contacts are moved to the back of the cell, so the front of the panel does not have the grid of thin metal lines that you see on ordinary panels. Without those shading lines, almost the whole surface receives light, and more energy comes out of the same square metre.
A single module gives 600 W under standard test conditions (STC) and occupies 2,58 m2, that is 2278 x 1134 mm: as a guide, by simple division, about 17 modules are needed for 10 kWp installed. On sheet metal roofs, where the panels heat up strongly in summer, the temperature coefficient matters: this model loses 0,26% of its power for each degree above the test temperature, and the open-circuit voltage drops by only 0,22% per degree. The product warranty is 15 years, and the performance warranty is linear over 30 years, with a maximum of 1% degradation in the first year and 0,35% per year afterwards, that is about 88,8% of the initial power at 30 years. The anodised aluminium frame and the 3,2 mm front glass require no special maintenance, only occasional washing, and the ABC architecture copes better with partial shading and microcracks - useful on roofs with skylights, chillers or ducting.
At STC: Pmax 600 W, Vmp 44,68 V, Imp 13,43 A, Voc 53,99 V, Isc 14,20 A, efficiency about 23,2% over 2,58 m2. N-type ABC cells, 144 half-cells, mono-glass construction with a 3,2 mm front, anodised aluminium frame, overall size 2278 x 1134 mm. Maximum system voltage 1500 V DC, maximum string fuse 25 A, operating range -40...+85 °C. Temperature coefficients: -0,26 %/°C for Pmax, -0,22 %/°C for Voc, +0,05 %/°C for Isc, the low value on Voc leaving margin when sizing the string for the minimum design temperature, below the 1500 V ceiling.
Suitable for hall roofs, commercial buildings or ground-mounted installations, where there is a large surface and the smallest possible number of modules for a given power is wanted; less suitable on small residential roofs, where a 2,28 m module is hard to handle.

AIKO-A600-MAH72Mw (Comet 1N) is the AIKO module intended for commercial and industrial applications, built on the same N-type ABC cells as the residential Neostar series, but in a large 72-cell format (144 half-cells) and overall size 2278 x 1134 mm. As the contacts are moved entirely to the back of the cell, the front of the module has no metal grid, which increases the active surface and the efficiency.
At STC the module delivers 600 W, with Vmp 44,68 V, Imp 13,43 A, Voc 53,99 V and Isc 14,20 A, at an efficiency of about 23,2% over 2,58 m2. The temperature coefficients specific to ABC technology - -0,26 %/degree C for Pmax and -0,22 %/degree C for Voc - are a real advantage on industrial roofs, where the module temperature rises a lot in summer.
The construction is mono-glass with 3,2 mm front glass and an anodised aluminium frame. The maximum system voltage is 1500 V DC, and the maximum string fuse 25 A. The ABC architecture also offers better tolerance to partial shading and to microcracks, an important factor for industrial roofs with obstacles (skylights, chillers, ducting).
