Large 645 W panel for industrial roofs: about 23,9% efficiency over 2,7 sqm and about 28 kg, lighter than the double glass versions of the same surface.
This is a large format panel from the manufacturer's second generation, intended for industrial halls and ground installations. It has the electrical contacts moved to the back of the cell, so the front has no metal lines covering the light; this gives it more active surface and better behaviour when a part of the panel is shaded or when it is very hot outside. It is monofacial, that is it produces only with the face exposed to the sun - it does not need a reflective surface underneath.
One panel measures 2382 x 1134 x 30 mm, that is about 2,7 sqm, and weighs approximately 28 kg - a few kilograms less than a version with glass on both faces of the same surface, which matters on hall roofs with a small load reserve. As a guide, 100 panels of 645 W mean 64,5 kWp over about 270 sqm of module surface (calculation from power and dimensions). In a heatwave it loses 0,26% of its power for each degree above the reference temperature, and the declared ageing is below 1% in the first year and below 0,35% per year afterwards. The warranty is 15 years on the product, extendable to 25, plus 30 years on performance.

AIKO-G645-MCH72Mw belongs to the Comet 2U72 Mono-Glass series (640-670 W), the second generation of large format AIKO modules for commercial and industrial applications. The module is monofacial, with 144 N-type ABC (All Back Contact) cells in a 6 x 24 configuration, on an overall size of 2382 x 1134 x 30 mm; at 645 W this results in a module efficiency of about 23,9% (the top of the series, at 670 W, reaches 24,8%).
The ABC technology moves all the contacts to the back of the cell, so the exposed front has no busbars: the active surface is larger, and the behaviour under partial shading and at high temperature is better than with classic TOPCon modules. The power temperature coefficient is -0,26 %/degree C, and the declared degradation is below 1% in the first year and below 0,35% per year afterwards. The maximum system voltage is 1500 V DC, and the connectors are of the MC4 type.
For the Comet 2U series AIKO declares that, at the same surface, the installed capacity is more than 5% higher than with TOPCon and more than 12,5% higher than with PERC, and the energy production more than 7%, respectively more than 15% higher. Being monofacial with an aluminium frame and front glass, the module is lighter than the dual glass versions and suits industrial roofs where the additional load is limited.
