Kit Huawei SMARTGUARD-63A-S0 + Battery LUNA2000-10KW-S0

The kit combines a box that watches over the grid with an energy reserve for the home. SmartGuard sits between the grid and the house's panel board: the moment the power disappears, it separates the installation from the grid and supplies it from the inverter and battery, through a transition so fast that appliances do not reset. The LUNA2000 battery is the reservoir: it fills up during the day from the panels and empties in the evening or when the grid is missing. Together, the two make a power cut pass almost unnoticed in the house.

The 10 kWh are fully usable, and the continuous power of 5 kW covers the instantaneous consumption of an ordinary home, with a peak of 7 kW for 10 seconds for starting appliances with motors. Roughly, if during an outage you keep only the essential loads running, about 500 W, the 10 kWh mean around 20 hours of operation; at the normal consumption of the house, the duration decreases proportionally. The box is sized for 63 A, as much as an ordinary single-phase connection has, so the backup supply covers the whole home, not just a few circuits. The SmartAssistant function automatically switches off non-essential loads as the battery drops, in order to extend the autonomy of the important circuits. The battery assembly is 960 mm high and can later be extended to 15 kWh.

Terms explained

• Whole-house backup: The backup supply goes to the entire electrical panel board, not just to a few sockets wired separately, as happens with simpler solutions.
• Manual bypass: A bypass link that the installer can operate by hand, to put the house back on the grid if the automatic switch in the box fails.
• Power peak (7 kW, 10 s): The extra power the battery can deliver for a few seconds, when starting motors, which draw much more current in the first instant than during operation.

The kit provides backup for the whole single-phase home and an energy reserve of 10 kWh. SmartGuard-63A-S0 works at 220/230/240 V and withstands a current of up to 63 A. When the grid fails it automatically disconnects the installation and supplies it from the inverter and battery through a fast switchover, imperceptible for most appliances. The EMMA smart meter is integrated, and the SmartAssistant function allows loads to be scheduled and non-essential loads to be automatically disconnected as the battery discharges, in order to extend the autonomy of the critical circuits.

The box has an IP55 protection rating and an operating range of -25...+50 °C, so it can also be installed outdoors. It includes a manual bypass that allows the supply to be restored in case the main contactor fails. Being an integrated device, with measurement, communication and management in the same body, it reduces the number of modifications needed in the existing electrical panel board.

The storage part, LUNA2000-10-S0, consists of a LUNA2000-5KW-C0 power module and two LUNA2000-5-E0 battery modules with LiFePO4 cells. It offers 10 kWh usable at 100% depth of discharge, 5 kW maximum power and 7 kW peak for 10 seconds. The assembly is 960 mm high, has an IP66 protection rating, works between -20 and +55 °C and can later be extended to 15 kWh.
