Growatt HOPE 5.0L-B1 is a battery that is installed in a rack cabinet, like a drawer, and keeps the energy produced by the panels for the moment when you need it: in the evening, at night or when the power goes out. What sets it apart is how much of the stored energy you can actually use - almost all of it. If you need more reserve, you add another drawer next to the first one.

The module has 5,12 kWh, of which 5,0 kWh are effectively usable, that is 98% - a proportion rarely met. In practice, a single module covers the evening and the night of an ordinary house: fridge, lighting, television, network equipment and a few kitchen appliances. It can deliver 100 A continuously, with a peak of 250 A for 150 ms, which helps when starting motors - pumps, fridge or air conditioning compressors - that draw a lot of current in the first fraction of a second. It weighs 43 kg and takes up 440 x 480 x 130,5 mm, so it is installed indoors, in a rack or on a solid shelf. The manufacturer declares over 6000 charge-discharge cycles, that is daily use for many years, without maintenance; optionally an external touchscreen can be added, so that you can see the battery status without a phone.
