Description

Growatt HOPE 16.0LM-A1 is the larger variant from the same family of home batteries: the same principle - you store during the day, you use in the evening - but with more energy on board and with the ability to deliver current faster. It is designed for homes that consume a lot or that have a powerful inverter and do not want the battery to be the weak link.

The 16 kWh comfortably cover the evenings of a house with high consumption - heat pump, air conditioning, washing machine, hob - and can support the essential loads for more than a day during a power outage. The battery accepts up to 150 A on charging, so it fills up quickly on a sunny day, and delivers up to 200 A on discharging, which means it does not limit a high-power hybrid inverter. Several units can be connected in parallel, from 16 kWh up to 768 kWh, so the same product works both in a house and in a small industrial hall. It is mounted indoors, in a dry space, requires no periodic maintenance, and the manufacturer declares a minimum of 6000 cycles.

LiFePO4 cells of 314 Ah, nominal voltage 51.2 V, operating range 40-58.4 V, standard for hybrid inverters on 48 V. Maximum current 150 A on charging and 200 A on discharging; minimum 6000 declared cycles. IP20, indoor installation only. CAN and RS485 communication; modular architecture, with system expansion between 16 and 768 kWh through paralleling.

Who it suits

Suitable for a large home, with a heat pump or consumption over 8,000 kWh per year, and for installations where the inverter has high power and demands correspondingly high currents.

Terms explained

  • Ah (ampere-hours): The measure of the "amount" of current the battery holds; 314 Ah at 51.2 V give the 16 kWh of energy.
  • Charging current: How quickly the battery can be filled: with 150 A, a good sunny day is enough to recharge it.
  • IP20: The protection rating of the enclosure; IP20 does not withstand water, so the battery is installed indoors only.

Technical details

Series-level specifications — valid for the product family

Growatt HOPE 16.0LM-A1 is the 16 kWh version of the low-voltage HOPE family, built on LiFePO4 cells of 314 Ah at a nominal voltage of 51.2 V. The voltage range in operation is 40 - 58.4 V, standard for hybrid inverters on 48 V.

Compared to the 14.3 kWh model, this version offers higher currents: up to 150 A on charging and 200 A on discharging, so it can support higher-power hybrid inverters without limitation from the battery. The declared service life is a minimum of 6000 cycles. The enclosure has an IP20 protection rating and is intended for indoor installation.

The architecture is modular: the units can be connected in parallel to build systems from 16 kWh up to 768 kWh, covering both large residential installations and commercial applications. Communication with the inverter is via CAN and RS485.
