Deye ESS GE-F60-EU (HV)

Deye GE-F60 is not a battery you install in the house, but a ready-equipped metal cabinet, the size of an industrial fridge, which is placed outdoors, on a platform. Inside are the batteries, the cooling system, the sensors and the control electronics - it is delivered, anchored and connected. It is designed for companies that want to reduce their energy bill or avoid stopping work during a power cut.

The cabinet contains 61,44 kWh, that is 12 modules of 5,12 kWh connected in series - a reserve that can supply important loads in a hall for hours on end or can cover the consumption peaks in the expensive intervals. Being built for outdoors, it withstands water and dust (IP55) and works over a wide temperature range, from -30 to 60 degrees C, with air cooling that automatically reduces the operating regime above 45 degrees C, to protect the cells. Safety is addressed on several levels: it detects flammable gases, smoke and temperature rises, actively extracts the air and raises a fire alarm. It measures 783 x 1059 x 2235 mm and about 1070 kg, so it requires a foundation or a solid platform and machinery for installation; if you later need more capacity, identical cabinets are added in parallel.

Terms explained

• Derating: The automatic reduction of the working power when the equipment heats up too much, so that it is not damaged; here it kicks in above 45 degrees C.
• IP55: The enclosure is protected against dust and water jets, so the cabinet can be installed directly outdoors.
• Active extraction: Ventilation that forcibly draws the air out of the cabinet when the sensors detect gases or smoke, to prevent their accumulation.

Deye GE-F60 is a high-voltage cabinet-type storage system, intended for commercial and industrial applications. It consists of 12 LiFePO4 modules of 5,12 kWh connected in series, resulting in a total energy of 61,44 kWh at a nominal voltage of 614,4 V, with a working range of 480 - 700 V.

The recommended charging current is 50 A, and discharging can reach 100 - 125 A.
