Description

This is the usual bolt with which the parts of the structure are assembled together: rail connectors, adapters, accessories. The hexagonal head is tightened with a socket wrench or with a torque wrench, that is a wrench that measures exactly how hard you have tightened. It is used together with the self-locking hexagonal flange nut of the same size.

The M10 thread has the standard pitch of 1,5 mm, so it matches the usual M10 nuts of the system. Respecting the tightening torque matters more than it seems: on aluminium profiles, too high a torque deforms the walls of the channel and weakens the grip over time, while too low a one lets the assembly come loose under vibrations and thermal cycles. For outdoor installation, bolts with adequate anti-corrosion protection are chosen, and the stainless steel version is the recommended one where the bolt stays in permanent contact with aluminium. The bolts are installed either in the channel of the H type profile or through the holes of the connector, depending on the joining solution.

Bolt with hexagonal head, metric M10 thread with standard pitch 1,5 mm, for fixing rail connectors, adapters and accessories on H type aluminium profiles; matching element - self-locking hexagonal flange nut M10. Tightening with a socket or torque wrench, at the prescribed torque, to avoid deforming the channel walls. For outdoor environments, stainless steel execution at direct and permanent contact with aluminium, to limit galvanic corrosion between galvanized steel and aluminium in a humid environment.

Who it suits

Suitable for any installation on H type profiles that involves joining two rails or fixing an adapter; it is ordered as a package with the corresponding M10 nuts.

Terms explained

  • M10 thread, 1,5 mm pitch: Bolt with a diameter of 10 mm, whose thread spiral advances 1,5 mm with each rotation - the standard size.
  • Tightening torque: How hard the bolt is tightened, measured with a special wrench; it has a prescribed value, it is not tightened by arm strength.
  • Galvanic corrosion: When galvanized steel and aluminium sit together in damp conditions, the joint degrades over time; the stainless steel execution avoids this effect.

Technical details

Generic product — standard specifications

Bolt with hexagonal head and metric M10 thread, used for fixing rail connectors, adapters and accessories on H type aluminium profiles. The M10 thread has the standard pitch of 1,5 mm and is assembled with the self-locking hexagonal flange nut of the same size.

The hexagonal head allows tightening with a socket wrench or with a torque wrench, which is important for respecting the prescribed torque: on assemblies on aluminium profiles, too high a torque deforms the channel walls and weakens the grip over time, while too low a one lets the assembly come loose under vibrations and thermal cycles.

For outdoor installation, bolts with adequate anti-corrosion protection are chosen; the stainless steel version is the recommended one at direct and permanent contact with aluminium profiles, because it limits the galvanic corrosion that appears in a humid environment between galvanized steel and aluminium. The bolts are installed in the channel of the H type profile or through the holes of the connector, depending on the joining solution.
