Basic Rail 22 - K2 mounting rail 4800 mm
It supports the panels on a sheet metal roof without loading it: a 4.8 m aluminium profile that weighs about 3.1 kg and raises the modules by only 22.5 mm.
It fastens the photovoltaic structure securely into the wooden rafters, without pre-drilling. Ø8.0 x 100 mm, A2 stainless steel, Torx T-40 drive, ETA certification, K2 code 2004112.
It is the screw with which the whole structure that holds the panels is actually tied to the roof. Its tip cuts the wood by itself, so there is no need to drill beforehand: it is screwed directly into the rafter under the tile. The fact that no pre-drilling is needed shortens the installation and reduces the risk of splitting the wood. In practice, it is the link between the panel and the house, and how well the installation holds in a storm depends on its quality.
The length of 100 mm is the middle version of a complete series, from 60 to 200 mm (60, 80, 100, 120, 160, 180 and 200 mm), so it can be chosen according to the thickness of the rafter and the desired anchoring depth. Being made of A2 stainless steel, it does not rust and requires no maintenance during the service life of the installation. It is delivered in boxes of 50 or 200 pieces, and a full pallet reaches 16,800 pieces, so it can be ordered both for a house and for a large project. It fits the K2 InsertionRail, K2 SingleRail and K2 SolidRail rails, that is exactly the systems used on pitched roofs.
Self-drilling screw Ø8.0 x 100 mm, K2 article code 2004112 from the 2004110-2004117 series, A2 stainless steel, flat head with a diameter of 18 mm and hexalobular Torx T-40 drive, which transmits high torque without the bit slipping. The series has ETA certification for joints in timber constructions, so the load-bearing values can be entered directly into the structural calculation. The unit weight is about 0.019 kg for the short versions, and supply is through established manufacturers of construction screws (HECO, Reisser or E.u.r.o. Tec). K2 product warranty of 12 years, extendable to 20 years through sizing in K2 Base and documentation in K2 DocuApp.
Suitable for any installation on a pitched roof with a timber structure, where the tile hooks or the rail brackets are fastened directly into the rafter or into the roof boarding.

Specifications confirmed from the manufacturer's datasheet
The K2 self-drilling screw for wood Ø8.0 mm is the construction screw used for anchoring into the rafters or into the timber structure of the roof. The self-drilling tip allows screwing without pre-drilling, which greatly shortens the installation time and reduces the risk of splitting the wood. The 100 mm length corresponds to K2 article code 2004112 from the 2004110-2004117 series (60, 80, 100, 120, 160, 180 and 200 mm).
The material is A2 stainless steel, with a flat head of 18 mm diameter and hexalobular Torx T-40 drive, which transmits high torque without the bit slipping. The series has ETA certification for joints in timber constructions, so the load-bearing values can be used in the structural calculation. The unit weight is about 0.019 kg for the short versions.
The factory packaging is 50 pcs/small box, 200 pcs/box and 16,800 pcs/pallet. The product is compatible with the K2 InsertionRail, K2 SingleRail and K2 SolidRail systems and is supplied by established manufacturers of construction screws (HECO, Reisser or E.u.r.o. Tec).
