Trapezoidal mounting rail SMT-L3000

On roofs of corrugated (trapezoidal) sheet, the panels cannot be laid directly on the covering. This three-metre aluminium rail is placed across the corrugations and becomes the support onto which the modules are fastened. It is screwed directly into the sheet, so there is no longer any need for an intermediate structure reaching down to the rafters underneath.

Three metres of rail cover a good portion of a row of panels, and the channel on the upper face allows the clamps to be moved anywhere along the length, so the profile fits any module width, mounted portrait or landscape. There is a choice between two sections: 90x21 mm, lighter, with 2,09 kg per piece, and 110x60 mm, stiffer, with 3,78 kg - a difference that matters both for the weight added to the roof and for handling at height. Aluminium requires no maintenance. The rail is delivered without a gasket, and the 6x25 self-drilling screws and the 20x3 mm self-adhesive EPDM tape are ordered separately.

Terms explained

• Trapezoidal sheet: The roof sheet with straight, trapezium-shaped corrugations, frequently used on halls and outbuildings.
• T-type channel: A groove on the upper face of the rail into which the bolt head enters; it allows the clamps to be moved anywhere along the length, without additional holes.

The SMT L3000 trapezoidal mounting rail is a 3 metre aluminium profile made by Corab S.A. (Olsztyn, Poland), intended for fixing photovoltaic modules on pitched roofs covered with trapezoidal sheet.
