Description

It is the intermediate part between the anchoring point in the roof and the rail on which the panels sit. It offers a flat bearing surface and a bolted fastening point, so that the two elements can be firmly connected even if they do not fit directly. It is made of stainless steel because it stays permanently outdoors and because the entire load of the system passes through it.

The adapter works in permanent contact with water and condensation and fully transmits the forces from wind and snow, which is why the stainless steel execution matters: it has mechanical strength superior to aluminium at the same size and does not corrode over time. The slotted holes usually present on this type of adapter allow fine adjustment of the position before final tightening, which helps with aligning the rails on roofs with flatness deviations. Tightening is done with an M10 self-locking flange nut, at the torque indicated by the system supplier. At the interface with the aluminium profile, assembly elements also made of stainless steel are used, so that no corrosion appears between different metals.

Mounting plate made of stainless steel, dimensional version H17, with M10 threaded interface, between the anchoring element in the roof (hook, eye bolt or bracket) and the aluminium mounting profile. Stainless steel ensures mechanical strength superior to aluminium at the same size and stable corrosion behaviour; at the interface with aluminium, assembly elements also made of stainless steel are recommended, for a controlled galvanic couple. The slotted holes allow fine adjustment of the position; tightening with an M10 self-locking flange nut, at the torque indicated by the system supplier, checked with a torque wrench.

Who it suits

Suitable where the anchoring point in the roof does not fit the rail directly - mounting on hooks, on metal structures or situations that require adjustment before final tightening.

Terms explained

  • Adapter / mounting plate: The intermediate part that makes two different components fit and be able to be fastened to one another.
  • Slotted holes: Oval holes, not round, which let the bolt slide a few millimetres, so that you can adjust the position before tightening.
  • Stainless steel: Rust-free steel - it does not rust in the rain and behaves well in contact with aluminium.

Technical details

Generic product — standard specifications

Mounting plate made of stainless steel, executed in the dimensional version H17, with M10 threaded interface. The part acts as an adapter between the anchoring element in the roof (hook, eye bolt or bracket) and the aluminium profile on which the panels are mounted, offering a flat bearing surface and the M10 bolted fastening point.

The stainless steel execution is required by the function: the adapter works outdoors, in permanent contact with water and condensation, and fully transmits the loads from wind and snow. Stainless steel ensures mechanical strength superior to aluminium at the same size and avoids corrosion over time; at the interface with the aluminium profile, the use of assembly elements also made of stainless steel is recommended, for a controlled galvanic couple.

The slotted holes usually present on this type of adapter allow fine adjustment of the position before final tightening, which helps with aligning the rails on roofs with flatness deviations. Tightening is done with an M10 self-locking flange nut and with the torque indicated by the system supplier, checked with a torque wrench.
