Basic Rail 22 - K2 mounting rail 4800 mm
It supports the panels on a sheet metal roof without loading it: a 4.8 m aluminium profile that weighs about 3.1 kg and raises the modules by only 22.5 mm.
It does not loosen by itself from vibrations and expansion and it replaces the flat washer: M10 hexagonal nut with integrated flange, self-locking.
This is the nut that goes on the 10 mm bolts of the structure. It has two useful particularities: a widened base, which does the job of a washer and spreads the pressure over a larger surface, and a system that prevents it from loosening by itself. On a roof, where everything heats up during the day, cools down at night and vibrates in the wind, an ordinary nut would loosen over time.
The integrated flange means one part less to install and a lower risk of deforming the aluminium components when tightening, because the pressure is distributed over a larger area. It is used for fixing roof hooks on adapters, for fixing rail connectors and for assembling metal structures, together with M10 bolts. For outdoor installation, versions with adequate anti-corrosion protection are chosen - stainless steel where the nut is in direct contact with aluminium. A detail to keep in mind: the versions with a plastic insert are intended mainly for a single use, and on disassembly and reassembly the locking capacity decreases.
Hexagonal nut with integrated flange and self-locking element, metric M10 thread with a standard pitch of 1,5 mm. Two usual executions: with a non-metallic polyamide insert, corresponding to the DIN 6926 type, and metallic with a serrated flange, corresponding to the DIN 6923 type, in which locking is achieved through the teeth of the flange on the contact surface. The flange replaces the flat washer, increases the bearing surface and reduces the risk of deforming aluminium parts. For outdoor environments, the stainless steel execution is recommended at direct contact with aluminium, avoiding the galvanized steel-aluminium galvanic couple in a humid environment.
Suitable for any assembly with M10 bolts in the photovoltaic structure, exposed to vibrations and to heating-cooling cycles, where the use of separate washers is not wanted.

Generic product — standard specifications
Hexagonal nut with integrated flange and self-locking element, for bolts with metric M10 thread (standard pitch 1,5 mm). The flange takes over the role of the flat washer: it increases the bearing surface, distributes the tightening pressure over a larger area and reduces the risk of deforming aluminium parts, while at the same time eliminating one component from the assembly.
The self-locking prevents self-unscrewing under the action of vibrations and of thermal expansion-contraction cycles, permanent phenomena on a structure installed on a roof. In practice two usual executions are met: the version with a non-metallic polyamide insert, corresponding to the DIN 6926 type, and the metallic version with a serrated flange, corresponding to the DIN 6923 type, in which locking is achieved through the teeth of the flange on the contact surface.
In photovoltaic systems, M10 flange nuts are used for fixing roof hooks on adapters, for fixing rail connectors and for assembling metal structures. For outdoor installation, versions with adequate anti-corrosion protection are chosen - stainless steel for direct contact with aluminium, avoiding the galvanized steel - aluminium galvanic couple in a humid environment. Nuts with a non-metallic insert are intended mainly for a single use; on disassembly and reassembly the locking capacity decreases.
