K2 Single Rail 4800mm

It is the aluminium profile that is mounted on the roof and onto which the photovoltaic panels are then fixed. The panels are never fixed directly to the tile or to the sheet metal: they are fixed to these rails, which take up the weight, the wind and the snow and pass them on, through the hooks, into the timber structure of the roof. A 4.80-metre bar weighs under 4 kg, so it can be lifted and handled on the roof by a single person.

The rail is clipped directly onto the base plate of the K2 SingleHook hooks, without any need to screw into the plate, which appreciably shortens installation time; all accessories connect laterally onto the rail, without intermediate parts. The series includes the lengths 2.40 m, 3.65 m, 4.80 m and 5.95 m, so that the distance between the hooks can be chosen according to how much snow and how much wind there is in the respective area - a mountain roof requires more closely spaced hooks than one in the plains. The finish can be natural aluminium or black anodised, the black version usually being chosen when the panels have a black frame and a uniform appearance is wanted. The sales unit is 20 pieces. Aluminium does not rust and requires no maintenance over the service life of the installation.

Who it suits

Suitable for mounting on a pitched roof with tiles or sheet metal, but also for elevated systems on a flat roof, in projects where the large spans between hooks allow the use of long bars and a reduction in the number of joints.

Terms explained

• Roof hook: The metal part fixed into the timber rafter, underneath the tile, which brings out an arm on which the rail rests - so the weight does not press on the tile.
• Mid / end clamp: The parts that clamp the panel frame onto the rail: the mid one holds two neighbouring panels, the end one holds the last panel in the row.
• Anodising: A surface treatment of the aluminium that gives it colour (here black) and protects it additionally against corrosion.
