Basic Rail 22 - K2 mounting rail 4800 mm
It supports the panels on a sheet metal roof without loading it: a 4.8 m aluminium profile that weighs about 3.1 kg and raises the modules by only 22.5 mm.
It protects the roof waterproofing from the metal structure placed over it. EPDM pad Shore A 70, 380 x 75 mm, 0.368 kg per piece.
The metal structure on which the panels sit cannot be placed directly on the membrane or foil that keeps the water out of a flat roof: the metal rubs, presses at points and, in time, can pierce the insulation layer. Dome Mat S is the rubber base that goes between the rail and the roof. It does two things at once: it prevents rubbing and spreads the pressure over a larger surface, and being elastic, it moulds itself over the small unevennesses and slopes of the substrate.
Each pad measures 380 x 75 mm and weighs 0.368 kg, so a whole roof is equipped without a significant addition of weight. It is the part that makes ballasted mounting possible - the kind with no hole at all in the roof - the almost mandatory solution when the waterproofing is still under warranty and any penetration would void it. The EPDM rubber it is made of resists sun, ozone and the large temperature differences between summer and winter, so it requires no later replacement or maintenance. Factory delivery is in boxes of 50 pieces, respectively 900 pieces per pallet, enough even for large projects ordered in one go.
K2 article code 2003126, GTIN 4251786212873. EPDM with Shore A 70 hardness, dimensions 380 x 75 mm, mass 0.368 kg/pc, chemically compatible with the usual bituminous and synthetic membranes. It is fitted under the BasicRail rail, in the K2 Dome 6 and K2 Dome Zero systems, as a mandatory element in ballasted installations without perforating the covering. For further optimisation of the load distribution, K2 also offers the LoadSolver version, which combines a 200 mm Mat S with a sheet metal adapter.
Suited to any ballasted installation on a flat roof of concrete, bituminous membrane or PVC, especially where the roof is still under warranty and must not be perforated.

Dome Mat S is the EPDM protection pad that is placed between the BasicRail load-bearing rail and the covering of the flat roof. It has two roles: it protects the waterproofing membrane against abrasion and against the pressure points generated by the metal structure and, being elastic, it compensates for the tolerances and the small unevennesses of the substrate, distributing the load evenly.
The Dome Mat S 380 version (K2 article code 2003126, GTIN 4251786212873) has dimensions of 380 x 75 mm and is made of EPDM with Shore A 70 hardness - an elastomer stable to UV, ozone and large temperature variations, chemically compatible with the usual bituminous and synthetic membranes. The unit weight is 0.368 kg, the factory packing 50 pcs/box and 900 pcs/pallet.
The product is used in the K2 Dome 6 and K2 Dome Zero systems, on BasicRail rails, and is a mandatory element in ballasted installations, without perforating the covering. For further optimisation of the load distribution, K2 also offers the LoadSolver version, which combines a 200 mm Mat S with a sheet metal adapter.
