Description

This is the part that sits between two adjacent panels and clamps both of them to the rail at once. The fact that a single piece holds two panels means fewer parts to buy and less installation time than if each panel were fastened separately. It also has a second, equally important function: it keeps the two neighbours at a constant distance from each other.

The gap imposed automatically by the geometry of the clamp is needed so that the frames can expand in the heat and so that water and snow can drain between the panels instead of collecting. The base of the clamp anchors into the channel of the 40x40 mm H-type profile, and the Click system lets you place all the clamps on the rail, align the row and only then tighten them finally. Because it is also made of aluminium, like the panel frame, it also creates a metal contact between frame and rail, useful for earthing the structure - however the electrical continuity must be checked and, where required, completed with dedicated connectors. All tightening is done with a torque wrench, in the permitted clamping zones indicated by the panel manufacturer.

Aluminium mid clamp with Click-type quick fastening for H-type aluminium profile 40x40 mm; it fixes the frames of two neighbouring modules simultaneously and maintains the expansion gap. Anchoring into the profile channel, with free positioning and row alignment before final tightening. On modules with an anodised aluminium frame, the clamp provides a frame-rail metal contact relevant for equipotential bonding, but the electrical continuity of the structure is to be checked and completed, where required, with dedicated equipotential bonding connectors. Tightening with a torque wrench, exclusively in the permitted clamping zones.

Who it suits

Suitable for any panel array mounted on H 40x40 profiles, where the modules sit next to each other in a row - from residential to commercial systems.

Terms explained

  • Expansion gap: The space left intentionally between panels; metal lengthens in heat and shortens in cold, and this space allows it to move without being forced.
  • Equipotential bonding: Connecting together all the metal parts of the system, so that they are at the same electrical potential, for safety.
  • Mid clamp: The part that fastens two neighbouring panels at the same time, unlike the end clamp, which fastens a single panel, at the edge of the row.

Technical details

Generic product — standard specifications

Aluminium mid clamp with Click-type quick fastening system, designed for H-type aluminium profiles with a 40x40 mm section. A single element fixes the frames of two neighbouring modules simultaneously, which reduces the number of parts and the installation time compared with individual fastening solutions.

The geometry of the clamp automatically imposes a constant gap between panels, needed for the thermal expansion of the frames and for the drainage of water and snow between modules. The base of the clamp anchors into the channel of the H-type profile, and the Click system allows positioning and alignment of the row before final tightening.

On modules with an anodised aluminium frame, the aluminium metal clamp also provides a metal contact between frame and rail, an aspect relevant for making the equipotential bonding connection - however the electrical continuity of the structure must be checked and, where required, completed with dedicated equipotential bonding connectors. All tightening is carried out with a torque wrench, in the permitted clamping zones indicated by the panel manufacturer.
