The Smart Dongle is the part that takes the Huawei inverter out of isolation and connects it to the internet, so that you can see the production in the FusionSolar app. It has two connection paths: wirelessly, through WiFi to the home router, or through a network cable, when the radio signal does not reach the inverter. It is inserted into the dedicated port of the inverter and starts immediately, without additional data cables.
In practice, the Fast Ethernet 10/100 Mbps port is the safe solution for installations where the inverter is in the garage, in the basement or on an outside wall and the WiFi reaches there weakly. A single dongle can serve up to 10 inverters connected in cascade, so it covers not only a house, but also small commercial installations. The module works simultaneously as a local access point and as a device connected to your network: the installer does the commissioning by connecting directly to it from the FusionSolar app, and then the data goes to the monitoring platform. If the internet goes down, the automatic reconnection function resumes the link without anyone intervening. The enclosure measures 146 x 48 x 33 mm, weighs 90 g and is protected against dust and water in class IP65.

Huawei Smart Dongle-WLAN-FE (SDongleA-05) is the communication module for Huawei SUN2000 inverters, which offers two paths of connection to the internet: WLAN, for the link to the home router, and a Fast Ethernet 10/100 Mbps port, for a cable connection, more stable in installations where the radio signal is weak. The module is inserted into the dedicated port of the inverter, the installation being of the plug & play type.
