Deye Three-phase On-Grid Inverter SUN-15K-G05, 15kW

This is a grid-connected inverter, without a battery: it takes the direct current produced by the panels and converts it into the alternating current used by the house. What you do not consume on the spot goes into the grid, and in the evening you take from the grid again, which is how the prosumer status works. Being three-phase, it connects to the three-phase supply, and cooling is natural, without fans, so it has no moving parts that could wear out or make noise.

The 15 kW on the grid side allow up to 22.5 kW of panels to be installed, that is a generator larger than the inverter, a usual solution for extracting more energy in the morning, in the evening and in winter, when the sun is weak. The panels are split across two independent inputs, one with one string and one with two strings, so the roof can have two different orientations without one dragging the other down. The installation starts producing from 250 V on the panel side, which means it starts working early in the morning. Terms explained

• On-grid (grid-connected): The installation works together with the public grid: the surplus goes into the grid, and at night or in overcast weather you consume from there again; without a battery, during a power cut the installation stops.
• Zero export: A setting through which the inverter produces only as much as you consume in the house and sends nothing into the grid, used where you do not have an injection agreement.
• Start-up voltage: The level from which the panels have enough voltage for the inverter to start producing; the lower it is, the earlier it starts in the morning.

Deye SUN-15K-G05 is a three-phase grid-connected string inverter, with a rated AC power of 15 kW, from the G05 family with two MPPT trackers. The DC side accepts up to 22.5 kW of PV power, a maximum voltage of 1000 V and starts from 250 V; the MPPT tracking range is 200-850 V. The string configuration is 1+2 (one string on the first MPPT, two on the second), with maximum input currents of 13 A and 26 A and short-circuit currents of 19.5 A, respectively 39 A.

The AC output is three-phase 3L/N/PE at 380 V or 400 V, with selectable frequency 50 or 60 Hz and a maximum output current of 21.7 A.
