The three-phase hybrid inverter is the central part of an installation with a battery, in a house with a three-phase connection. It converts the power from the panels into household electricity, decides at every moment whether the energy goes to the loads, into the battery or into the grid, and works directly with the storage unit, without a separate device for the battery. With the Backup Box-B1 accessory, a backup circuit can be kept supplied, onto which you put the loads you do not want to lose during an outage.

The 10,000 W and the up to 15,000 Wp of accepted panels cover a large house, a guesthouse or a small building with three-phase consumption. The Huawei LUNA2000 battery can be chosen between 5 and 30 kWh, so the capacity is sized according to the evening consumption, and the charging and discharging power of 10,000 W allows the installation to work at full power also when it runs on the battery. The backup circuit through Backup Box-B1 supports 3,300 VA at 220/230 V (15 A), meaning it is designed for essential loads (fridge, lighting, internet, heating boiler), not for the whole house. The maximum efficiency of 98.6%, respectively 98.1% European weighted, means small losses on the way from the panel to the socket, and the 17 kg IP65 enclosure allows outdoor mounting, between -25 and +60 C.

Terms explained

• Anti-islanding protection: The function that stops the inverter when the grid goes down, so that it does not send voltage onto the line and endanger the crew carrying out repairs.
• Optimiser: A small device mounted on each panel, which prevents a shaded panel from dragging down the output of the entire string.

SUN2000-10KTL-M1 is Huawei's 10 kW three-phase hybrid inverter from the M1 series, with a maximum apparent power of 11,000 VA and maximum efficiency of 98.6% (weighted European efficiency 98.1%). The PV input supports up to 15,000 Wp recommended power, maximum voltage 1,100 V and two MPPTs with a 140-980 V range, start-up at 200 V and rated voltage 600 V; the maximum current is 13.5 A per MPPT.

The battery is connected directly, without an additional inverter: Huawei LUNA2000 / Smart String ESS system of 5-30 kWh, operating voltage 600-980 V, maximum current 16 A and maximum charging/discharging power 10,000 W.
