The inverter converts the direct current from the panels into alternating current, the one used by the appliances in the house, and decides at every moment where the energy goes: to the loads, into the battery or into the grid. This model is three-phase, that is it connects to installations with three phases, those found in homes with a higher contracted power. It also has arc-fault detection assisted by artificial intelligence: it continuously supervises the direct current cables and stops the system if a hidden spark appears, as a measure against fire.

The 3,000 nominal W correspond to a small system, of 3-4.5 kWp, suitable for a house with moderate consumption; on the panel side it accepts up to 4,500 Wp, that is approximately 1.5 times the output power. The two MPPT trackers allow two strings with different orientations, for example east and west, each working independently. With a LUNA2000 battery of 5-30 kWh connected directly, the inverter charges with up to 10,000 W and discharges with up to 3,300 W, and together with the Backup Box-B1 it keeps the essential loads at 3,000 VA during a power cut. It weighs 17 kg, measures 525 x 470 x 146.5 mm, has an IP65 enclosure and fanless cooling, so it can stay outdoors and works silently; at night it consumes under 5.5 W.

SUN2000-3KTL-M1 is a three-phase inverter from Huawei's Smart Energy Controller series (3-10 kW). It delivers 3,000 W of rated active power and 3,300 VA of maximum apparent power on a 220/380 V or 230/400 V grid (3W/N+PE), 50/60 Hz, with 5.1 A maximum output current, THD below 3% and a power factor adjustable between 0.8 capacitive and 0.8 inductive. The maximum efficiency is 98.2%, and the weighted European efficiency 96.7%.
