Description

This is the inverter that ties the panels, the battery and the grid together in a house connected on three phases. During the day it sends the current first into the home and into the battery, and in the evening it takes it back out of the battery. When the grid goes down, it switches on its own to backup supply in less than a hundredth of a second, practically imperceptible for appliances.

The 7.000 W spread over three phases cover the current consumption of a three-phase home, and during an outage the backup output delivers the same 7.000 W, not a fraction of it. A practical advantage is that the inverter can give 100% of its power on a single phase, so if all the consumption falls on one phase, you are not limited to a third. Up to 10.500 W of panels can be installed, 50% above the inverter power, which helps morning, evening and winter production. The high voltage battery charges and discharges at a maximum of 25 A. The IP65 enclosure allows outdoor installation, cooling is natural, therefore silent, and at night the unit consumes less than 13 W.

7000 W / 7000 VA at 230/400 V, 3W+N+PE, maximum current 10,6 A, THDi below 3%, adjustable PF 0,8 capacitive - 0,8 inductive, 100% unbalanced output and export limitation on each phase. DC: 2 independent MPPTs with one string each, maximum voltage 1000 V, start-up 120 V, MPPT range 120-1000 V (nominal 600 V), 13,5 A per MPPT (Isc 16,9 A), maximum recommended PV 10.500 W. Battery 100-550 V, lithium or lead-acid, 25 A charge/discharge; backup 7000 W / 7000 VA with switching under 10 ms. Maximum efficiency 98,2%, European 97,4%, MPPT 99,9%. Transformerless, IP65, 505x453x198 mm, 30 kg, -25...+60 °C. Type II DC and AC SPD, DC switch, grid and insulation monitoring, anti-islanding, RCMU. RS485/CAN/USB, LCD+LED, RF/WiFi/GPRS optional. CE, IEC 62109, IEC 62040, VDE-AR-N 4105, EN 50549, CEI 0-21 and 0-16, IEC 61727/62116, G98.

Who it suits

Suitable for a three-phase home with moderate consumption that wants self-consumption and backup supply for the important loads, including as an addition on top of an existing on-grid installation.

Terms explained

  • High voltage battery (HV): A battery made of modules connected in series, at 100-550 V; compared with 48 V ones, at the same power a smaller current flows through the cables.
  • 100% unbalanced output: The inverter can deliver all its power on a single phase, if the consumption is there, instead of being obliged to split it in three.
  • Anti-islanding: The protection that stops the export to the grid during an outage, so that there is no voltage on the line where the electricians are working.

Technical details

Specifications confirmed from the manufacturer's datasheet

Growatt SPH 7000TL3 BH-UP is part of the three-phase hybrid family SPH 4000-10000TL3 BH-UP. It has two independent MPPT trackers, one string each, a maximum DC voltage of 1000 V, an MPPT working range of 120-1000 V (nominal 600 V) and 13,5 A maximum current per MPPT (Isc 16,9 A). The maximum recommended photovoltaic power is 10500 W, so a DC/AC ratio of up to 1,5.

On the AC side it delivers 7000 W / 7000 VA at 230/400 V, 3W+N+PE, with 10,6 A maximum current, THDi below 3% and a power factor adjustable between 0,8 capacitive and 0,8 inductive. It supports 100% unbalanced output over the three phases and intelligent export limitation on each phase. The high voltage battery is connected in the 100-550 V range (lithium or lead-acid), with 25 A maximum charge and discharge current. The backup output provides 7000 W / 7000 VA with a switching time under 10 ms.

Maximum efficiency is 98,2%, the European one 97,4%, and MPPT efficiency 99,9%. Transformerless IP65 enclosure, natural cooling, 505x453x198 mm, 30 kg, operation between -25 and +60 C, night consumption below 13 W. It includes type II SPD on DC and AC, DC switch, grid and insulation monitoring, anti-islanding and RCMU. RS485/CAN/USB communication, LCD+LED display, optional RF/WiFi/GPRS monitoring. Certified CE, IEC 62109, IEC 62040, VDE-AR-N 4105, EN 50549, CEI 0-21 and 0-16, IEC 61727/62116, G98.
