Description

It is a hybrid inverter for houses connected on three phases - the usual situation where there are more powerful loads, such as a heat pump or machinery. It converts the current from the panels into three-phase 400 V current, charges the battery with the surplus and, when the grid is interrupted, continues to supply all three phases. A practical advantage is that it does not require equal consumption on the three phases: it can supply one heavily loaded phase and another almost empty one, as actually happens in a home.

The 5000 W of active power are split over three phases, with a limit of at most 50% of the rated power on a single phase - important if you have a large load connected on a single phase. Modules totalling up to 10000 W can be connected, of which a maximum of 7500 W is processed, and the maximum permitted input voltage of 800 V allows long strings of panels, so fewer cables run on the roof. The 48 V battery charges and discharges with up to 120 A, that is roughly about 5.8 kW, and scheduling is done over six time intervals, so you charge and consume at the hours that suit you. The direct grid-to-load pass-through supports 45 A. The device weighs 38 kg and measures 422x658x254 mm, has an enclosure sealed against dust and splashes and can be mounted on an exterior wall; if more power is needed, up to 10 units can be connected in parallel.

PV: 10000 W connected power, 7500 W maximum at the input, 2 MPPT with one string each, 13+13 A (Isc 17+17 A), Vmax 800 V, start-up 160 V, MPPT window 200-650 V, nominal 550 V. AC: 5000 W active, 5500 VA apparent, 7.6/7.2 A rated and 8.4/8 A maximum, 220/380 V or 230/400 V (0.85-1.1 Un), 50/45-55 Hz, 3L+N+PE, 100% unbalanced output with a maximum of 50% of Pn per phase, bypass 45 A, maximum efficiency 97.6%, European 97.0%, MPPT efficiency above 99%. Lead-acid or lithium battery, 40-60 V, 120 A charging/discharging, automatic adaptation to the BMS, 6 programmable time intervals, up to 10 units in parallel. RS485/RS232/CAN communication, optional WiFi/Bluetooth/4G/LAN monitoring. IP65 enclosure, 422x658x254 mm, 38 kg. Certifications: VDE-AR-N 4105, EN 50549, CEI 0-21, G98/G99, UNE 217002, IEC 61727/62116.

Who it suits

Suitable for a home with a three-phase connection and moderate consumption, which wants backup power on all phases and uses a 48 V battery, cheaper and easier to expand than the high-voltage ones.

Terms explained

  • 100% unbalanced output: The inverter accepts different consumption on each of the three phases, as happens in practice, without requiring an equal distribution of the appliances.
  • Low-voltage battery (48 V): The most widespread type of battery in residential systems; it is cheaper and easier to expand module by module than the high-voltage versions.
  • Maximum PV voltage of 800 V: It allows more panels to be connected in series in a single string, which means fewer cables run from the roof to the inverter.

Technical details

Specifications confirmed from the manufacturer's datasheet

Deye SUN-5K-SG04LP3-EU is a three-phase 5 kW hybrid inverter from the SG04LP3 series, designed for three-phase residential systems with a low-voltage battery (48 V). It accepts 10000 W of connected photovoltaic power and 7500 W of maximum PV input power, on 2 MPPT trackers with one string each (2/1+1), with 13+13 A maximum operating current and 17+17 A short-circuit current. The maximum PV voltage is 800 V, start-up from 160 V, MPPT window 200-650 V, and the nominal PV voltage 550 V.

On the AC side it delivers 5000 W of rated active power and 5500 VA of maximum apparent power, with 7.6/7.2 A rated current and 8.4/8 A maximum current, at 220/380 V or 230/400 V (0.85-1.1 Un), 50/45-55 Hz, 3L+N+PE connection. It supports a 100% unbalanced output on each phase, with a maximum of 50% of the rated power per phase, and the grid-to-load bypass supports 45 A. Maximum efficiency 97.6%, European 97.0%, MPPT efficiency above 99%.

The battery (lead-acid or lithium) works in the 40-60 V range, with 120 A maximum charging and discharging current, auto-adaptation to the BMS and 6 programmable time intervals.
