This device links into a single system the panels, the battery, the grid and the loads of a building, converting the solar current into usable current and directing it automatically. Being hybrid, it can keep the building supplied even when the grid goes down, without anyone's intervention. The 20 kW model is the top of the compact family with a 48 V battery and is aimed at small commercial spaces and very large houses.

The 20,000 W simultaneously support several machines or large appliances, and in off-grid mode it delivers 40,000 W for 10 seconds, enough to start powerful motors. Up to 70 A per phase can pass through the inverter from the grid, so the entire installation of the building can be put behind it. The panel field can reach 32,000 W, with total PV access up to 40 kW, and the battery accepts 350 A at 48 V, that is as a guide around 17 kW of charging, enough to fill a large battery bank on a good day. Several batteries can be connected in parallel, and the 6 programmable time slots allow tariff and backup strategies for outages. The IP65 enclosure can also be mounted outdoors, with noise below 60 dB.

Terms explained

• Apparent power (VA): It is the total power the device can deliver, including the part consumed by motors and transformers; that is why it is slightly higher than the power in watts.
• AC coupling (retrofit): You add the battery on top of an already existing solar installation, without dismantling the old inverter from the roof.
• Storage from a diesel generator: The inverter can use a generator to charge the battery, useful in areas with a weak or missing grid.

The rated active power is 20,000 W, and the maximum apparent power 22,000 VA, on a 3L+N+PE 230/400 V output, 50/60 Hz, with 30.4 A rated current and 33.4 A maximum current per phase.
